Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011

I have been looking at London Fashion Week photos, and have been excited to see burberry's fall collection.

They have used what looks like cow print. I love how Burberry always keep their designs with a traditional english herritage throughout.

Bollywood-Miss Newcastle

I have been asked to design a dress for Miss Newcastle as my work based project. The theme is Bollywood. The Bollywood stars are flamboyantly dressed in exceptionally bright colours. The details and print on the garment mostly featuring embroidery does stand out prominently. The Bollywood outfits although making a statement, they do still look comfortable and the actors can easily dance and move around freely without feeling sore. The Indian women are very beautiful, I am lucky to be designing this type of outfit and I am looking forward to starting this project.

I came up with the idea as I didn't think a dry biography seemed an interesting prospect, nor could it hope to capture the mystique that surrounds the creative souls that punctuate the industry with their imagination. I thought the best way to tell their tales would be as a very special 'Once Upon a Time'."

I will be buying a copy of this book just for the illustrations!

print design

before i can get my fabric sorted i need to be thinking abou the print and what design i would likeeand basically how im going to go about doing it.

i did not want a digital print, i dont think this looks very good especially on clothes, also if im drawing it on illustrator it will not be very good. i have drawn up some ideas i think they will look very good against a light background, i might have to change the colours if they are on a different background.

flats

i chose my designs i wanted to put forward i am at the moment drawing them up in to flats this does take quite a while! im trying to do them the best i can so that i can just put them straight into my portfolio.

here are some of my designs for this project i do feel quite rushed and i have not really completed my research so im going to be thinking of better designs later on.

i origionally wanted to keep them yellow and orange but then i thought about adding more colours and i basically went crazy with colour .
